E-60 Highway Improvement Project: Feasibility Study and Detail Design for km 80-km 95, “Sveneti-Ruisi” Section

Overall Project Task:
E-60 international highway crosses the territory of Georgia from east to the West. The existing two-lane road had to be upgraded to meet a demand of drastically increased traffic flow. Starting from Tbilisi city, the highway is being upgraded section by section. Kocks Consult GmbH, in partnership with BT Ltd, was responsible for the fulfillment of feasibility study and preparation of detailed engineering design drawings and bidding documents for the particular section, km 80 – km 95, represented by complex terrain and unfavorable engineering geological conditions.
Detailed Description of Actual Services Provided by BT Ltd:
Road alignment and feasibility study; Geodetic surveys along the alignment; Road Inventory and Road Condition assessment; Hydrological studies; Geological and geotechnical investigations (geological mapping, boring, construction material investigations etc..); Preparation a of a final design of the highway and structures, drainage systems; Preparation of a final design of the interchanges; Preparation of a final design for the bridges; Preparation of Bill of Quantities, Tender Documents, and Technical Specifications; Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA and EMP reports); Resettlement studies (LARP preparation);
